Tarot and Roses
Welcome to Season 11 of Every Day Tarot! This season, we’re exploring the fascinating connections between Tarot and plant allies.
In today’s episode, I’m introducing you to evening rosemary—a hardy, aromatic plant celebrated across centuries for its protective, clarifying, and heart-strengthening qualities. I’ll share how rosemary invites us to honor our memories, cultivate mental clarity, and approach life with playful reverence and warmth.
What we explore in this episode:
What rosemary is and its rich historical and herbal background
Which tarot cards and astrological energies rosemary resonates withPractical ways to work with rosemary in ritual, gardening, cooking, and everyday magic
💐 Meet the Plant Ally: Rose
Roses (Rosa spp.) are perennial shrubs known for their captivating scent, lush blooms, and symbolic depth. With their thorny stems and soft petals, roses teach us about holding strength and softness together—embodying fierce boundaries and tender love at once. Beyond their beauty, rose petals and hips offer medicinal and culinary benefits, supporting heart health, skin healing, and emotional resilience.
From rose gardens in full bloom to wild roses along riverbanks, this plant has woven itself into myth, poetry, and magic across cultures for centuries.
🔮 Rose & Tarot
Roses resonate deeply with tarot archetypes that honor love, sensuality, and creative abundance:
The Ace of Cups — inviting emotional renewal and opening to love and joy.
Queen of Cups & Nine of Cups — celebrating self-nourishment, pleasure, and heartfelt wishes.
The Lovers — representing union, devotion, and choices made from the heart.
The Empress — embodying Venusian beauty, fertility, sensual delight, and the magic of creation.
Astrologically, rose is ruled by Venus and aligns with Friday, inviting us to celebrate connection, romance, and beauty as sacred practices.

💭 Today's Tarot Pull:
From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Miser (reversed).
This card arrives as a gentle nudge to release rigid control, soften dominance, and welcome new ways of being—an invitation to open your heart and trust in change. Much like rose teaches us to hold both strength and softness, this card asks us to relinquish old structures that no longer serve and embrace life with more openness and grace.
Reflective prompts on this card:
Where am I holding too tightly to control or old patterns?
How can I invite more softness and pleasure into my daily life?
What structures am I ready to transform to make room for more love and joy?
