Tarot and Rosemary
Welcome to Season 11 of Every Day Tarot! This season, we’re exploring the fascinating connections between Tarot and plant allies.
In today’s episode, I’m introducing you to evening rosemary—a hardy, aromatic plant celebrated across centuries for its protective, clarifying, and heart-strengthening qualities. I’ll share how rosemary invites us to honor our memories, cultivate mental clarity, and approach life with playful reverence and warmth.
What we explore in this episode:
What rosemary is and its rich historical and herbal background
Which tarot cards and astrological energies rosemary resonates withPractical ways to work with rosemary in ritual, gardening, cooking, and everyday magic
💐 Meet the Plant Ally: Rosemary
Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is a resilient, evergreen shrub originally native to the Mediterranean but now beloved around the world. With its woody stems, needle-like fragrant leaves, and delicate purple-blue flowers, rosemary is deeply associated with remembrance, protection, and clarity.
Historically used for purification rituals, funerals, weddings, and offerings, rosemary reminds us to keep a clear head, honor the wisdom of our past, and approach life with joy and warmth.
🔮 Rosemary & Tarot
Rosemary resonates with tarot archetypes that celebrate memory, heart wisdom, and mental clarity:
Six of Cups — inviting us to revisit joyful memories, embrace our inner child, and find sweetness in nostalgia without getting stuck.
The Hermit — illuminating introspection, personal wisdom, and self-guided clarity.
The Sun — representing warmth, vitality, and life-affirming energy (rosemary is ruled by the sun and associated with fire).
Astrologically, rosemary is connected to the Sun and the sign Aries, supporting courage, warmth, and action rooted in clear intention.
