Tarot and Bees
Welcome to Season 12 of Every Day Tarot! This season, we’re exploring the sacred bond between the tarot and our animal allies.
Animals are ancient storytellers. They whisper truths about our intuition, reflecting our fears and desires, guiding us through cycles of change, and reminding us of the wild magic woven into the natural world.
In this episode, we talk about bees (specifically honey bees)—social insects that thrive in interdependence, joy, and fierce devotion to purpose. They are woven into folklore, magic, and medicine across time and place. From the queen to the forager, every action supports the whole. Honey bees remind us that sweetness comes through effort, community, and alignment. It also challenges us to know our role and to value ourselves as part of the greater hive, honoring both our individuality and our interconnection.
Let’s dig into their lore, their tarot appearances, and the lessons they bring when they show up in your life (or your deck!)
What we explore in this episode:
Bee symbolisms in myth and magic
How bee energy relates to certain tarot archetypes
The message of the bee: joy in devotion, power in purpose, and abundance through sacred labor
Honey Bee Symbolism in Myth & Magic
Bees have been revered, romanticized, and ritualized across centuries and continents. From sacred omens to industrious workers, they’ve buzzed their way into mythology, medicine, and magic. Their honey has sweetened offerings to gods, sealed spells of prosperity, and soothed wounds of both body and spirit.
In ancient Greece, they were associated with the Oracle of Delphi and the priestesses of Artemis.
In Egyptian myth, bees were born from the tears of Ra.
In Celtic mythology, bees are associated with the goddess Brigid.
In Druidic lore, bees symbolize unity and service. Their collective nature models harmony and purpose, reminding us of our role in the greater web of life.
Magically, bees represent:
Seasonal celebration and abundance
Sacred work and the harmony of roles
Community and cooperation
Communication, especially messages from spirit
Feminine power, collaboration, and industrious joy

Tarot Cards Featuring Honey Bee Energy:
While not common across all decks, rabbits appear in several key tarot archetypes—especially those grounded in the physical world. Their energy pops up symbolically, even when they’re not pictured directly.
Ace of Pentacles (Sasuraibito Tarot)
A card of tangible beginnings and grounded abundance. Bees here echo themes of prosperity, natural rhythms, and sustainable effort.
Three of Pentacles (Anima Mundi Tarot)
Featuring the Western honeybee, this card emphasizes teamwork, recognition, and the synergy of co-creation.
Queen of Wands (Goddess of Love Tarot)
Bees pollinate a lush field of roses around the Queen. This card radiates sensual power, passion, and creative sovereignty (aligned with Leo season and the New Moon energy).
Plants beloved by bees and associated with Empress energy:

💭 Today's Tarot Pull:
From It’s Grow Time oracle deck by Chantel Davis Gray, I pulled “I am not for everyone, and not everyone is for me.”
This feel good card affirms that authenticity matters more than approval. Like bees drawn only to certain flowers, not everyone will be your people—and that’s okay. Bee medicine reminds us to serve our purpose with passion, not perform for popularity.
Reflective prompts on this card:
Where in your life are you trying too hard to please everyone?
What would it look like to pollinate the places that truly nourish you?
How can you stay true to your work, your rhythm, and your sacred nectar?
