How do I get back into tarot?
Frequently Asked Questions: Tarot, Witchcraft, & Divination
Welcome to Season 14 of Every Day Tarot! This season, I’m answering your most frequently asked questions about tarot, witchcraft, and divination.
Today’s question: How do I get back into tarot?
If you’ve fallen out of your tarot routine, or perhaps lost touch with your cards, consider this your reminder that the magic never really leaves. Your deck isn’t keeping score. It’s not disappointing that you missed the last full moon, or that it’s been months since you last shuffled. Tarot is always ready to meet you right where you are, no matter how much time has passed.
In this episode, we’ll explore gentle ways to restart your tarot practice and help you reconnect with your deck and intuition.
What we explore in this episode:
Re-entry habits for a low-pressure tarot practice
How moon phases, seasons, and natural cycles can anchor your readings
Ways community and collaboration can make tarot more sustainable
Release the guilt, build small and steady habits
Getting back into tarot isn’t about “catching up” or doing it perfectly. Even one card pulled with intention is enough to spark reconnection and remind you that your deck is always waiting for you. The most important step is to release pressure.
One-card pulls - Shuffle once, draw a single card, and spend some time noticing what it stirs in you.
Tarot snapshots - Snap a photo of your daily card and give it a one-word caption. Let it be playful.
Weekly check-ins - Choose one day each week to pull a card for the week ahead.
These simple practices reawaken your tarot muscles without adding pressure.
Use Natural Rhythms as Anchors
If daily cards feel overwhelming, let nature guide you.
Lunar cycles - Pull cards on new and full moons.
Seasonal markers - Solstices, equinoxes, and sabbats can anchor your readings.
Life transitions and milestones - Moving, starting a new job, or even “it’s Friday” can all be reasons to pull a spread.
Tarot doesn't need to follow a strict witchy calendar. You are allowed to choose the rhythms that feel aligned with your energy.

💭 Today's Tarot Pull:
From Therapists Who Tarot Deck, Prompts by Dreya Blume and Images by Rebecca Bloom, I pulled the Ace of Spirals & Three of Spirals (Upright).
Plant the seed, not the perfect plan. Name what you want to manifest and release perfectionism so your practice can actually begin.
Reflective prompts on this card:
What do I hope tarot supports in therapy right now (clarity, emotion access, values, decisions)?
Which sentence from the scripts above feels most natural for me to use this week?
Where is perfectionism stopping me from asking for what I need in my healing?
💭 Today's Tarot Pull:
From The Desert Illuminations Tarot by Lindsay D. Williams, I pulled the Three of Cactus Three of Pentacles (Upright).
Collaboration not only brings inspiration but also helps you stay consistent with joy instead of pressure. Your growth is amplified when others hold space with you.
Reflective prompts on this card:
What is the smallest tarot practice I can try this week?
How do I want my tarot practice to feel in this season of life?
Who or what could support me in weaving tarot back into my rhythm?
