Tarot and Frogs
Welcome to Season 12 of Every Day Tarot! This season, we’re exploring the sacred bond between the tarot and our animal allies.
Animals are ancient storytellers. They whisper truths about our intuition, reflecting our fears and desires, guiding us through cycles of change, and reminding us of the wild magic woven into the natural world.
In this episode, we talk about frogs—amphibious creatures of duality, sensitivity and strength, stillness and song. Frogs are potent guide through life’s transitions. They are associated with transformation, adaptability, and emotional healing. Frog energy invites us to move through discomfort, trust our evolution, and honor the slow magic of change.
Let’s dig into their lore, their tarot appearances, and the lessons they bring when they show up in your life (or your deck!)
What we explore in this episode:
Frog symbolisms in myth and magic
How frog energy relates to certain tarot archetypes
The message of the frog: honor your creative cycles and trust the process of transformation
Frog Symbolism in Myth & Magic
Frogs are powerful symbols of transformation, emotional renewal, adaptability, and the cyclical nature of life. Their journey from egg to tadpole to frog mirrors our own phases of becoming—reminding us that growth often happens in stages, not all at once.
In folklore and spiritual practices, frogs are rain-callers. Their croaking often precedes rainstorms, tying them to cleansing and renewal.
They represent:
Transformation & metamorphosis
Emotional healing
Creative fertility
Adaptability
Balance
Frogs are often associated with rain and ritual cleansing. Their croaking is known to precede rainstorms, tying them to renewal and the sacred power of voice. In witchcraft and magical traditions, frogs are seen as both protectors and omens of luck, often linked with spell-work, transformation, and vibrational sensitivity.
