Soft, luminous, and named for the moon goddess Selene, Selenite mirrors the moon-tide of emotions and helps restore gentle flow where energy has grown stagnant.

Selenite is the transparent, pearly form of gypsum—physically delicate, spiritually potent. They form where mineral-rich waters evaporate, leaving behind these luminous crystals. Its name honors Selene, the Greek moon goddess, this crystal is long associated with emotional flow, lucid intuition, and compassionate truth.
In ancient times, it was called “moonstone” and associated with the glowing face of the goddess. Transparent sheets of selenite were once used to cover images of the Virgin Mary, chosen for their purity and brilliance.
In magical practice, Selenite has been used for:
Purifying auras, spaces, crystals, and tarot decks
Meditation, dreamwork, and spirit contact
Alignment of chakras and intentions
Justice/clarity workings and gentle reconciliation
Astrologically, selenite resonates with the Moon and the sign Cancer, amplifying intuition, dreamwork, and nurturing wisdom.

Selenite’s luminous qualities find reflection in several tarot archetypes. Its moonlit glow resonates strongly with The Moon, guiding us through cycles, intuition, and hidden truths. The watery realm of the Cups cards mirrors selenite’s ability to soothe emotions and bring clarity to the heart.
The King of Cups especially embodies its balance of intellect and compassion, while The Magician reflects selenite’s role as a wand of alignment—channeling divine will into physical form. Finally, The Lovers echo its themes of harmony, reconciliation, and choosing connection with clarity and truth.
