Seven of Pentacles

Welcome to season 7 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Pentacles.

I’m going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

  • What the Seven of Pentacles teaches about patience, growth, and strategic pause

  • Symbolism across different decks: blooms, gardens, abundance, the sacred pause to assess progress

  • How to recognize when it’s time to celebrate progress and when it’s time to reassess your efforts

  • Why evaluation is a necessary and sacred part of any creative or life-building process

In this episode, we explore the Seven of Pentacles, a card that holds space for reflection, assessment, and acknowledgment. It’s a sacred pause point: a reminder that growth isn’t just about constant action.

Sometimes, we need to stand still long enough to notice what’s blooming. Progress asks for patience, self-trust, and the bravery to both celebrate what’s flourishing and prune what no longer serves.

The Seven of Pentacles invites us to recognize that real, sustainable growth honors effort, discernment, and rest in equal measure. It asks: 'Are you recognizing the real fruits of your labor? Or are you so focused on "what's next" that you're missing the quiet miracle of what’s already blooming?'

If you haven't listened to my other seasons yet, go check them out!

The first season, I introduced tarot through talking about oracle vs tarot cards, myths of tarot, how to find a deck, reading for yourself vs others, and much more.

In seasons 2 and 3, I went through the major arcana and the four suits, one per episode.

In season 4, I talked all about Tarot in Pop Culture and examined representations of Tarot in videogames, TV shows, movies, and more.

In season 5, I went through 13 Common Tarot Spreads, what they are, how many cards, and an example of what it looks like to work through one.

In season 6 I talked all about the Suit of Wands, one per episode.

Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Hound (reversed), a card that's about loyalty, chains, and promises. In reverse, The Hound asks us to reflect on where loyalty has made us feel stuck rather than a source of strength. It challenges us to notice when devotion to what is familiar can keep us from reaching for more, and invites us to rebuild trust.

Trust in yourself, in the process, and in the possibility that what you’re working toward is unfolding in its own divine timing. This card invites a courageous pivot: honoring the work we’ve done while giving ourselves permission to move toward new, more aligned directions.

Reflective prompts on this card:

  • Are you staying committed to a path, person, or project even after it no longer serves your growth?

  • How do you trust yourself, and trust that positive things can happen?

  • What different action can you take to get different results?
