Nine of Pentacles

Welcome to season 7 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Pentacles.

I’m going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

  • What the Nine of Pentacles teaches about prosperity, self-reliance, and savoring your success

  • Symbolism across different decks: gems, sunflowers, rainbow arches, blooming cactus, and arms holding abundance

  • How to balance independence with continued growth and gratitude

  • Why rest, enjoyment, and self-trust are essential parts of the journey toward abundance

  • The reminder that luxury and comfort can be spiritual practices, not just material rewards

In this episode, we explore the Nine of Pentacles, a card that radiates the joy of earned abundance, self-sufficiency, and grace. This card invites us to pause and truly receive the rewards of our labor. It’s a moment of standing in your power, acknowledging all that you’ve cultivated, and letting yourself experience the pleasure, security, and comfort you’ve worked so hard to create.

The Nine of Pentacles reminds us that independence doesn’t have to mean isolation, and wealth isn’t only material—it’s the richness of knowing you’ve shown up fully for yourself. It asks: “Can you let yourself enjoy what you’ve built, without guilt or hesitation? Can you claim joy as your birthright?”

If you haven't listened to my other seasons yet, go check them out!

The first season, I introduced tarot through talking about oracle vs tarot cards, myths of tarot, how to find a deck, reading for yourself vs others, and much more.

In seasons 2 and 3, I went through the major arcana and the four suits, one per episode.

In season 4, I talked all about Tarot in Pop Culture and examined representations of Tarot in videogames, TV shows, movies, and more.

In season 5, I went through 13 Common Tarot Spreads, what they are, how many cards, and an example of what it looks like to work through one.

In season 6 I talked all about the Suit of Wands, one per episode.

Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Pilgrim, a card about the long journey, the lessons we gather along the way, and the quiet wisdom of steady progress. The Pilgrim reminds us that even when we achieve milestones, the path continues, and each step holds discovery. It invites us to keep moving forward with curiosity, gratitude, and trust in the unfolding road.

Reflective prompts on this card:

  • What successes or milestones have you achieved that you haven’t paused to truly celebrate?

  • How can you let yourself enjoy the fruits of your labor without guilt or fear?

  • Where might you be ready to savor, rest, or embrace beauty in your life today?
